WHOS THIS FOR?: This class is for anyone who is interested in exploring how to meditate, and get the benefits of a stronger connection to inner peace. With the opportunity to learn about and discover Light and Sound meditation, those who wish to progress on their spiritual journey can learn in an experience based way. Whether you are a compete beginner or have already started meditating, you are welcome to this class. I'm happy to teach anyone that would like to learn how to get stiller, feel really relaxed, and start to explore more of their inner spiritual awareness. As an experienced Light and Sound teacher I can also help people progress onto Light and Sound meditation.

Beginners: The class on the first Wednesday of every month is aimed at beginners, so if you're new to meditation then this is an ideal and gentle introduction to meditation. Of course you are welcome to come to any of the classes but you may find the beginners class easier to start with. You may also want to start enjoying my free online video course too to get up to speed quickkly

WHO TEACHES IT?: I am Mark, a meditation teacher based in Kent with over 19 years of teaching experience, and I teach in a practical, experience based way. It's not about fancy terminology or ideas, it's all about you finding out how to easily relax, let go of your mind chatter, and feel how nice it is to discover a deeper inner peace. I don't belong to any particular group and have supported people from complete beginners through to those who've already tried other classes and systems of meditation like Buddhism, TM, Mindfulness, Yoga, Reiki, as well as from other Light and Sound groups including Divine Light, Sant Mat, Ching Hai etc. 

WHERE: Classes are in the Main Hall of St Peters in Thanet Hopeville Avenue, St. Peter’s, Broadstairs, CT10 2TR. Click here to see the map

BOOKING: No need to book, just turn up. You do not need to come every week if you can't make it. The classes are designed so you can drop in and out to suit your schedule. Obviously I hope you can make it every week though, but I'll understand if something comes up. If it is your first time, please contact me before you come just so I know to expect you.

COST: This is a free class. You do not need to go through the checkout process on this site.

TIME: The class starts at 8pm and finishes at 9:30pm. Doors close at 8pm so please arrive a few minutes before.

BLANKETS & CLOTHING: We will be sitting in chairs (or on the floor if you prefer). Please dress in comfortable clothing which leaves you free to relax and sit comfortably. We won't be doing lots of movement or anything athletic. I recommend bringing a blanket and a cushion for your own comfort. Your body may naturally cool down as you sit in stillness and so I'd also advise nice warm socks if you tend to feel cold (especially in winter!). Please note this is not a lying down meditation class. I encourage people to sit rather than lay down. Find out why.

ACCESS: There are toilets and the building has wheelchair access.

PRACTICAL ADVICE: Please refrain from drinking alcohol or smoking before coming to this class. Many people find it easier to be relaxed and go into meditation if they have not had a large meal just before-hand. Herbal teas and water are provided for refreshment and there are toilets. Another handy hint is not to eat biscuits or snacks immediately before (or during) the class. Similarly I'd recoommend not chewing gum while meditating, as this will keep you distracted from getting stiller.

 

While meditation is suitable for everyone if you have a history of mental health issues or are on strong medication please check with your doctor before starting. Please also let me know in strict confidentiality if you are or have been on medication or had any health issues which you feel may need consideration.
